The Chateau & Hotel – Domaine de la Tortinière is an elegant 19th century property on 15 hectares of parkland overlooking the river Indre and about 15km south of Tours. The Capron family acquired the chateau in 1954 and have run it as luxury hotel since. The current generation, Xavier and Anne, deliver an excellent experience at this friendly hotel with an intelligent mix of modern and classical design throughout the property. The 26 rooms, 6 suites and gourmet restaurant have been discreetly integrated into the environment.

The Domaine de la Tortinière is on our list of top hotels in the region both as a place to stay and as a location from which to explore the central region of the Loire Valley. With Château d’Azay-le-Rideau, Château de l’Islette and Château de Villandry all about 20 minutes drive away to the west. Going east the Château de Chenonceau and Château Royal d’Amboise are around 40 minutes drive.
