CHÂTEAU DES ARPENTIS

The Château des Arpentis, now a lovely  boutique hotel, is located a few km from the “la cite Royale d’Amboise” and in the heart of the region of Touraine, in between Tours and Blois.  The property dates back to 1313 as illustrated by the defensive walls which, in the 17th century, were converted into the extensive terrace we see today. The chateau, which dates from around 1410, and lies in 30 hectares of parkland and was completely restored in 2008.

The Château des Arpentis, apart from being an excellent place to kick back and relax, is well located for visits to Château Royal d’Amboise, Château du Clos Lucé, Château de Chenonceau and Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire.   The historic town of Amboise is less than 10 minutes drive away and has an excellent selection of restaurants and casual dining locations.  Our recommendation is the Brasserie Hippeau which benefits from being slightly off the main street.
